Art for all on the town trail
by David Mellor
TWO new locations have joined Melton’s burgeoning Arts and Crafts Trail meaning there are now 19 places to see quality art and craftwork in the town centre, writes Richard Cragg.
Mark and Janine Cook’s More Coffee Co has opened in Market Place with original work on display and for sale by Asfordby artist David Mellor whose picture The Desert Flowers, Yellow Broomrape is shown here.
Brian Hodder’s Italianate style paintings, meanwhile. are now on show at Monica Guiotto and Alex Gertiani’s new Italian cafe Dolce Vita in King Street.
Elsewhere on the trail well-known Melton artist Lyndon Cragg (no relation!) is making a welcome return to Kelley Dawn’s Coffee Shop, Ceramic Studio and Art Gallery in Wilton Road, where examples of his latest original work are being shown for sale.
You can pick up a trail leaflet at any of the 19 locations displaying the ART logo and only need to get it stamped at three of the venues to qualify for the free prize draw on December 1 to be in with a chance of winning one of Melton artist Claire Powell’s delightful paintings which are on display in the art gallery in County Crafts in Windsor Street.
