IF King Edward VII is closed has anyone considered the impact the extra traffic, in the region of 200-plus cars, will have on Melton's already overcrowded roads in the morning rush hour?
Parents of children from the Burton Road area will be forced to transport them to the other end of town.
If the children have to go to John Ferneley, at the far end of Scalford Road, it is much too far and too dangerous for them to walk. The journey to Long Field is almost as bad.
What about the 'greenhouse effect' we are supposed to be trying to reduce? In its usual short-sighted way, the county council has not considered the consequences – Melton as a whole will be affected. ALL Melton people should oppose this plan.
