The Respect Academy of Performance, which meets every Thursday at Swallowdale School, has been rehearsing hard since Christmas to put on two 75-minute shows at 2pm and 7pm.
The musical, set in the Great Depression, tells the rags to riches story o
f Annie who escapes the hardship of Miss Hannigan's orphange to seek a new life and includes all the big numbers such as NYC, Hard Knock Life and Tomorrow.
Polly Hubbard, drama director, said: "This junior version of Annie retains all the best elements of the musical which people love but it's a little shorter making it ideally suited for a family audience. It says a lot about friendship, belonging and overcoming adversity which really appeals to children of all ages."
Eleanor Wallace and Beth Pascoe, both 11, will each play one show as Annie with Sophie Hopkins (12) and then Olivia McKee (14) as Grace Farrell and George Tebbutt (16) as Daddy Warbucks.
The show is produced by Polly Hubbard and choreographer Rosetha Claxton of Respect Academy of Performance and musical director Sandra Tebbutt.
Tickets for both shows are £8, available from the box office on (01664) 851111.
