Sid the sloth (voiced by John Leguizamo) yearns for a family of his own so he 'appropriates' a nest of soon-to-hatch dinosaur eggs.
His loyal friends, Manny the woolly mammoth (Ray Romano) and Diego the sabre-toothed tiger (Denis Leary), embark on
a perilous rescue mission accompanied by the love of Manny's life, Ellie (Queen Latifah), who is preparing to give birth to their first mini-mammoth.
Mischievous possum 'brothers' Crash (Seann William Scott) and Eddie (Josh Peck) also tag along for the ride, providing a distraction for Diego, who fears he might be losing his killer instinct by spending all of his time with his herbivore friends.
The long and arduous quest takes the friends into a vast and mysterious underground world where the flora is almost as deadly as the fauna, and a loveable, one-eyed weasel called Buck (Simon Pegg) is on his own mission: to hunt the pesky dinosaurs.
The kids will love it.
*David Yates returns to the director's chair for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (12A), the penultimate instalment in JK Rowling's magical series.
Dark clouds gather as Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and his ever-loyal chums Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) return to Hogwarts for their sixth term to news that Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) continues to gain in strength.
Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) appears to align himself with the rejuvenated Death Eaters and is duly announced as the school's new Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher to the delight of Slytherin House.
While Ron and Hermione continue with their studies, Harry spends lots of time with headmaster Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) and a Pensieve, delving into Voldemort's past.
The boy wizard learns that the dark lord is searching for Horcruxes, each of which contains a piece of his evil soul. So long as the Horcruxes exist, so does Voldemort.
Back at the school, Harry's bitter rivalry with Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) threatens to boil over, coming to a head on top of the Astronomy Tower where one of Harry's dearest friends sacrifices himself for the greater good, setting the scene for the final film, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, which will be released as two movies.
