ALL the fun of a traditional English village fete will be on offer on Saturday when Saltby hosts its Feast Day.

There will be races for children and adults plus the Saltby Dash around the village, welly wanging, children's fancy dress, a fun dog show and so on.

In addition to the athletic events there will be more sedate activities including bowling, raffles, tombolas and stalls selling country treats prepared by some of the village's best cooks.

Di Kingston-Brown, one of the organisers, said: "Feast Day goes back a long way and we're very proud of it, not just because it raises funds for village activities but because it shows the very best of what Saltby has to offer.

"Hopefully good weather will encourage plenty of two-legged entrants for the races and four legged ones for the fun dog show."
