Report highlights cancer isolation

NEARLY one in five of newly diagnosed cancer patients in Leicestershire lack support from family and friends during treatment and recovery according to new research.

An estimated 550 patients each year face isolation according to the report published by Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Facing the Fight Alone report says that detrimental effects of isolation on the lives of people living with cancer are far reaching.
