Princes Trust and Melton firefighters team up to recruit members for the Princes Trust course in Market Place

MELTON’S Princes Trust team was out in force to recruit more members recently with the help of Melton firefighters.

The trust had hoped to launch its latest 12 week course of personal development at the beginning of the month but had to postpone it due to low numbers, the new course start date is Monday, November 12.

Team leader Laura Henderson (26) said: “It’s a shame that we haven’t had as much interest as before but the recruitment day went well and we managed to get a lot of people interested in signing up.

“We have four young people signed up already but ideally we need about another six.”

Laura is the new leader for the Princes Trust team in Melton she has worked at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service in the fire control room for six years and recently took on the role of Prince Trust team leader as she has always wanted to work with young people.

The programme, supported by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is aimed at students, aged 16 to 25, needing a confidence boost and the young unemployed.
