A GLITZY Bollywood themed event has raised vital funds to support Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
The event, organised by Ram Odedra, the owner of Mace store in Main Street, Whissendine, was such a big success that Ram is hoping to make it an annual fixture in the village.
The night included a Bollywood DJ, drummer and dancers and Indian buffet and many of the attendees turned up in full Indian dress.
In total £660 was raised from the event on Saturday, November 17.
Ram also took on the challenge of performing a bollywood dance routine if another £80 could be raised. A collection box was sent round all the tables and the amount totalled £125.

Ram performed the dance and will use the money to hold a fun sports day for children in both Whissendine and surrounding villages next year.
He said: “It was a fantastic night and it was great to have the support of the village behind us.”
