THURSDAY 11.10AM
Pony Club members of the Quorn Hunt have donated £1,000 to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The group, which meets in Rotherby, decided to give the money because of the number of horse riding accidents in the county each year.

District commissioner Sue Henton said: "Speaking from first-hand experience I know just how important the air ambulance is. I was picked up a few years ago, fortunately I wasn't badly injured but if I had it would have made the difference between life and death.

"Horse riders do have accidents, and they are often in the middle of nowhere. The air ambulance has made a huge difference to many riders."
lRegional fundraiser Barbara Parish accepts the cheque from Charles Geary and Sue Henton
