FRIDAY 3PM: Bingo nights helped the appeal with three events boosting the coffers.
In Nether Broughton, Freda Greaves, Lorna Lords and Julie Young raised £320. In Sewstern a bingo and raffle run by Barbara Day raised £355.

Meanwhile, in Scalford, Janet Allen's regular Friday Club bingo raised £485.80. There will be another two events for the appeal in Scalford Village Hall on April 18 and May 16.

A fun quiz for the appeal will be held at the Noels Arms in Burton Street, Melton, tonight from 8.30pm.
