THURSDAY, 12.30pm: Hamilton Tennis Club's men's second team won a very tight match 5-4 against Carisbrooke E.
Tom Rowe and Andy Douglas won two sets 9-7, while Doug Hacking and Jose Sabino won two on tie-breaks and Nigel Haynes and Jon Hacking won another 9-6.

Scores: Tom Rowe/Andy Douglas W 9-7, L 6-9, W 9-7; Doug Hacking/Jose Sabino L 5-9, W 9-8, 9-8; Nigel Haynes/Jon Hacking L 3-9, 8-9, W 9-6.

*The ladies' first team suffered their second defeat with a 6-3 loss to Leicestershire A.

Helen Thorpe and Charlie Griffin won two sets, but lost in a close match to the visitors top pair, while Di Burdett and Tracy White won one set.

Scores: Helen Thorpe/Charlie Griffin L 5-9, W 9-3, 9-1; Di Burdett/Tracy White L 2-9, 1-9, W 9-7; Margaret Roskell/Nicky Kennedy L 1-9, 2-9, 2-9.

*The men's first team continued their winning streak, 7-2 against Victoria Seconds.

Ed Blake / Peter Thorpe again won a maximum three sets with two each from Tom Rowe and James Rowe, and David Hamilton-Palmer and Alex Mayhew.

*The ladies' second team beat Market Harborough six sets to three with each Hamilton pairs winning two sets.

Scores: Sue Corfield/Jenny Golland L 7-9, W 9-3, 9-1; Beth Lowe/Jo Heggs L 3-9, W 9-6, 9-5; Nicky Kennedy/Margaret Heggs L 4-9, W 9-7, 9-2.

*The ladies' third team beat Rothley Ivanhoe 7-2, Margaret Heggs and Louise Hurley, and Lesley Greaves and Cindy Coulter winning three set maximums each.

Scores: Margaret Heggs/Louise Hurley W 9-4, 9-8, 9-6; Eileen Merrison/Pat Woolston L 7-9, W 9-6, L 8-9; Lesley Greaves/Cindy Coulter W 9-5, 9-2, 9-4.

*The ladies' fourth team whitewashed Rothley Ivanhoe Fifths 9-0 with none of the pairs looking in danger of losing a set.

Scores: Di Green/Margaret Wright W 9-4, 9-4, 9-0; Brenda Langridge/Chris Stevens W 9-0, 9-2, 9-1; Christine Stanley/Jean Galloway W 9-1, 9-0, 9-3.

*The men's veterans team beat Roundhill 5-3.

Doug Hacking and David Gildove won three sets, and Selwyn Carter and Steve Thompson two.

*The ladies' veterans first team beat Leicester Forest East Seconds seven sets to one.

Eileen Merrison and Margaret Roskell won a maximum four sets, and Tracy White and Sue Corfield took three.
